{"id":464,"date":"2020-03-09T22:28:14","date_gmt":"2020-03-09T21:28:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/acfcroatia.hr\/?page_id=464"},"modified":"2020-03-09T22:28:14","modified_gmt":"2020-03-09T21:28:14","slug":"eea-and-norwegian-financial-mechanisms","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/acfcroatia.hr\/en\/eea-and-norwegian-financial-mechanisms\/","title":{"rendered":"EEA and Norwegian Financial Mechanisms"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The EEA Financial Mechanism and the Norwegian\nFinancial Mechanism represent the contribution of Iceland, Liechtenstein and\nNorway to reducing economic and social disparities and to strengthening\nbilateral relations with 15 EU countries in Central and Southern Europe and the\nBaltics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the period 2014-2021, EUR 2.8 billion has\nbeen set aside under the Financial Mechanisms. The EEA Financial Mechanism (EUR\n1.5 billion) are jointly financed by all three donors and available in all 15\ncountries. The Norwegian Financial Mechanism (EUR 1.3 billion) are financed\nsolely by Norway and available in the 13 countries that joined the EU after\n2003. During this period, Republic of Croatia is entitled to EUR 103,4 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The available funds are intended for\nprogrammes in following priority areas: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Innovation, Research, Education\nand Competitiveness<\/li><li>Social Inclusion, Youth Employment\nand Poverty Reduction<\/li><li>Environment, Energy, Climate\nChange and Low Carbon Economy<\/li><li>Culture, Civil Society, Good\nGovernance, and Fundamental Rights and Freedoms<\/li><li>Justice and Home Affairs<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Main objective of the <strong>Civil Society Programme<\/strong>, funded through the EEA Financial Mechanism, is to strengthen civil society and active citizenship, and to empower vulnerable groups and it is implemented through Active Citizens Fund in 15 beneficiary countries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the period of 2014\u20132021 special emphasis of\nthe ACF is put on long-term sustainable development and capacity building of\nNGO sector. Enabling that, ACF programme aims at strengthening the role of NGOs\nin promotion of democratic governance of the country, inclusion of public in\ndecision-making processes on national and local level, and strengthening human\nrights. An important priority of the Programme is also strengthening\ncooperation between civil society organisations in beneficiary countries and organisations\nfrom donor countries&nbsp;&#8211; Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Programme Operator is Bruxelles based\nFinancial Mechanism Office (FMO) while in each of 15 beneficiary countries, the\nFund is managed by operators which are independent of local, regional and\ncentral government, political parties and religious institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More on EEA Financial Mechanisms is available at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eeagrants.org\">www.eeagrants.org<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The EEA Financial Mechanism and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism represent the contribution of Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway to reducing economic and social disparities and to strengthening bilateral relations with 15 EU countries in Central and Southern Europe and the Baltics.
